Join the Collaboration:
Present your research in Hawaii!

HICSS - January 7-10, 2025

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: JUNE 15, 2024!

We are collaborating with some awesome colleagues to co-chair three exciting mini-tracks that will explore how value is co-created in markets through collaboration, marketing and entrepreneurship at the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS)!

HICSS is an interdisciplinary forum and highly interactive working environment for top scholars and industry professionals. Research presented and published in HICSS proceedings are highly cited and globally impactful.  We invite you to submit your work to following three mini-tracks focused on the intersection of relationships and digital technologies in evolving sociotechnical environments:

1) Collaboration Ecosystems

This minitrack centers on the exploration of collaboration ecosystems, or the multi-sided, multi-level sociotechnical systems in which joint efforts to create value and associated collaboration technologies are embedded. We seek papers that investigate the nested nature of collaboration technologies in markets, as well as networks of actors and their dynamic relationships that support collaboration practices, processes, and outcomes. We are especially interested in papers that explore and explain how collaboration drives value co-creation and leads to a variety of improved outcomes for individuals, organizations, and society at large. Co-chairs: Melissa Archpru Akaka (melissa.akaka@du.edu), Hope Jensen Schau, Stephen L. Vargo, John Sebesta

2) Electronic Marketing

This minitrack aims to provide a forum for open and vibrant discussion of emergent research from any part(s) of the world emphasizing addressing a) big ideas that have the potential to positively, and substantially move/change markets, organizations, or other relevant stakeholders/systems; or b) deeper dives into established theories, or domains with meaningful and sufficiently distinct research explorations that can enhance understanding, and enliven new opportunities for improved experience, engagement, exchange, strategies, practices, and wellbeing.  Download the call for papers here

Co-chairs: Hope Jensen Schau (schauh@uci.edu), Melissa Archpru Akaka, Martin Key

3) Artificial Intelligence and Entrepreneurship

This minitrack centers on understanding how artificial intelligence influences entrepreneurship at the micro, meso, and macro levels. The era of artificial intelligence (AI) in entrepreneurship has begun, with advances in AI bringing new opportunities for value creation and enabling fewer individuals to accomplish more than ever. From entirely new business opportunities to increased efficiency and automation within business processes. Entrepreneurship remains the core strategy for economic development and innovation, and artificial intelligence stands to influence all aspects of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs identify and pursue opportunities to create value under conditions of uncertainty. and may play a critical role in facilitating the adoption of AI. Download the call for papers here
